J. Michael Olivero is an Associate Professor in the Law and Justice Program at Central Washington University. He received his BS. in sociology and BS. in art from San Francisco University, his MS. in criminal justice from Illinois State University, and his Ph.D. in sociology from Southern Illinois University. Dr. Olivero has taught criminal justice courses at John Logan College, and at The University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Texas. He has also held positions as a correctional officer, probation officer, counselor, deputy sheriff, and member of the Mission Gang Task Force with the Mission Police Department in South Texas.
